Laughs, Smiles and Observing

So Jared and I have realized that Dallin may not be such a smiley baby anymore. He doesn't smile as easily as he did before, especially at others besides us. He does smile instantly when Jared looks at him though! And often me too. But we are thinking he may be a little more like Teya in that department than we had originally thought.
Another way he is like Teya is that he doesn't laugh super hard or easily. He chuckles, but you have to work to get him to laugh and then it is usually just a chuckle or two. I was so hoping to get kids that just giggled uncontrollably like the babies on America's Funniest Home videos, but oh well! I wouldn't trade him for the world!
And yet ANOTHER way he is like Teya is that he really like to just observe and study people. He will sit and watch strangers especially. Just watch and watch them. It really seems like he's observing them too, not just staring.

First Tooth!

It broke through today! On the bottom. No wonder the poor guy has been a little fussy. Such a sweetheart!

Observant and Laughing

I just noticed the other day that Dallin seems to be very observant, just like Teya. He likes to watch people. Just watch and watch, just like Teya does. I am so interested to see if his personality turns out to be like hers. Another similarity is that he doesn't laugh super hard, just like her. I hoped he would giggle uncontrollably like those babies on America's Funniest Videos, but he doesn't. He does laugh, but not like I was hoping. Oh well, he's precious!!

Rolling over

Dallin finally started rolling from his stomach to his back last week! Now he rolls back and forth, turns, rolls back and forth, turns, etc. He gets around the floor doing this, so I have to make sure the whole area is clear of small objects when I set him down now!

First Solids!

We tried feeding Dallin solids for the first time this past Sunday, since he just turned 6 months old. We only had sweet potatoes and since I knew he wouldn't actually be eating that much, we tried him on it. He actually opened his mouth over and over for it for the first little while! But Jared did mention him pushing it out with his tongue, so I guess he still has the tongue thrust reflex. After a while though, I guess he finally really started tasting it and was giving disgusted looks! I tried giving him some organic brown rice cereal today, but I he didn't like it at all. I mixed it with water instead of breast milk though, so that may be the problem. I'll try and pump tomorrow and try it again. He did open his mouth for Teya when she was feeding him, but I think that may be b/c she barely put any of it on the spoon so he didn't really taste it at first.
